New Members Class

Time:
-
Recurrence:
Weekly from until

What is the Membership class? It’s a free three-week class for newcomers and current or returning members to learn about our spiritual community and the benefits of membership and living a deeper spiritual life. Newcomers sometimes find it challenging to meet people, make friends, and find ways to be involved in the life of a spiritual community. Through this class participants become connected to a small group of people, and get spiritual tools and practical information to become a part of the life of GGCSL. Upon class completion, participants may choose to become members (if they aren’t already) of Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living.

Rev. Mary and Karen Frost, RScP, will be facilitating the Membership class on Zoom. The course is three Sundays: January 11, 18 & 25th, 2026 on Zoom from 12:30–2:30 pm. Each week we’ll provide you with important and useful information about GGCSL and how it works, as well as allotting a good amount of time for getting acquainted more deeply with others exploring membership.

Sign up at the Events Table on Sunday, or email administrator@ggcsl.org so Sonia can send your handouts to you and provide the online link for the Zoom meetings.

This course is offered free of charge.

The welcome reception for those choosing to become GGCSL members will be Friday, January 30, 2026 (location TBA), and Welcome Sunday will be February 1, 2026 at the 10 AM Celebration service.

Beginning September 11th, every Thursday from 4 – 6:00 pm, for 6 weeks, Lynne Law, a former longtime facilitator with the Center for Attitudinal Healing, is offering this group to support our consciousness of wholeness and wellbeing in spite of any conditions that might distract from these.

This circle is a sacred place to honor one another by listening only. No advice is given as it is believed we
all have our own best answers. Each one chooses to share whatever is on their mind and heart in a
nonjudgmental, confidential environment.

Please sign up at the Activity Table. Please note the group is limited to 7 individuals.

Annual GGCSL Membership Meeting

Be sure to put this date on your calendar, and plan to attend in person or on Zoom!

Every year GGCSL meets to elect new Leadership Council representatives and to update the members and congregants about the state of the church. We will share a provided late lunch immediately following the Sunday Celebration. Afterward the meeting will be held in the same location as the service: Corte Madera Community Center. Members must sign in to indicate their attendance and intention to stay for the duration of the meeting, voting on candidates and any adoption of member required changes to policy or bylaws.

All are welcome to attend, but only members may vote. If you’re interested in being considered to serve on the Leadership Council, please speak to Rev. Judith Fleenor.

For those attending on Zoom, join us here online at 11:45 am:

We call our Board of Trustees a Leadership Council, and it may be a perfect place for you to serve. Our Leadership Council is a loving , experienced group of leaders, committed to supporting GGCSL with their time, leadership, and expertise.

The Leadership Council oversees staffing, policies and procedures, bylaws, income / expenses, and carrying out GGCSL’s Mission.

We meet monthly on the third Wednesday afternoon on Zoom for about 90 minutes, and work on our share of LC projects between meetings, preparing updates in reports for the next meeting.

We love and support each other in prayer, humor, and collaboration. The Leadership Council commits to “speaking with one voice,” and maintains appropriate confidentiality on personnel issues and donor information.

Have you considered serving GGCSL in this way? If you’re an active Member who has completed Foundations, you’re eligible to serve. Applications and info are on the Sunday Activity Table, and can also be requested via email: ggcsl@ggcsl.org.
