Get Involved

There are so many ways for you to become a part of the GGCSL community. Whether you want to jump into the action or step in gradually, you’re welcome. Choose what fits your and your path today. * PLEASE NOTE: Teams whose roles have been altered temporarily to accommodate our safe reopening plan following the COVID-19 shelter-in-place period are marked by an asterisk.

These are some of the ways you can make a difference in our spiritual community.

SUNDAY CELEBRATION SUPPORT TEAMS
These teams of volunteers make our Sunday Celebrations possible. They set up and take down tables, prep the snacks for the social time, greet people as they arrive, hand out bulletins and anything needed during the morning Celebration, answer questions, and help people find seats when it’s crowded. They commit to one Sunday per month and help make the space welcoming for everyone.

Sunday Support Team

A/V TEAM
This team welcomes people who have the skills (or want to learn how) to create and/or run the Sunday Keynote slides, or to manage the our Mevo camera and additional video equipment or prepare recordings for posting on Vimeo. We live-stream quality broadcasts of our Sunday Celebration experience on Facebook Live, and also post the recordings during the week following on our website, our Vimeo page and our YouTube channel, ggcsltv.

HEALTHY SNACKS TEAMS
Where two or more are gathered…We Eat! Post-Sunday Celebrations are no exception. Bringing snacks to share during our social time is one of the easiest ways to meet people and make new friends here. Volunteers on these teams sign up to provide snacks for the community one Sunday each month during the upcoming quarter.

Outreach Team

OUTREACH TEAM
Our outreach team is committed to serving in a variety of ways in the larger Marin community to ease the way for those who are hungry, ill, in need or unsheltered. Some of the projects this team engages in are: local blood drives, collection of non-perishable food for community food banks, gifts at holiday time for families in shelters, and participating with other faith communities in rotation to provide meals for unsheltered men. New opportunities are welcomed to explore and participate further in this sacred service.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS
We plan and hold large and small social events and fundraisers throughout the year, and volunteers are always welcome. From holiday celebrations to concerts to gala parties, to silent auctions, we do it all. This team has great fun and participants get to know each other while putting on events and parties.

CLASS REGISTRARS
Each class registrar sets up the class meeting room, processes student registrations and materials, tracks class payments and homework assignments, and organizes class clean up following the class. Registrars arrive early and need to be comfortable and detail-oriented with numbers. All registrars receive training and a discount on their own registration.

WELCOME / MEMBERSHIP TEAM
On Sundays, this team provides information and answers questions for newcomers. You can find them easily because they’re wearing big ASK ME name tags. This team helps people sign up for new member classes and welcomes joining members at a special reception in their honor. On New Member Sundays this team prepares and hands out packets and candles to new members for their official welcoming ceremony as members of our community. Read more about Temenos here.
