When a commitment is so strong that we endure the discomfort of our own resistance and persist anyway we often achieve what it was we set out to accomplish. When resistance is so strong that we “cheat” or make exceptions to the commitment, we weaken it further.
Within the experience we can strengthen commitment or we can strengthen the resistance to it. Which will be the stronger of the two? And how do we know this in advance? Can we even know this?
