“Where’s Yours?” (02/04/24)

Rev. Mary Murray Shelton

Divine Discontent describes a desire, inspiration, or compelling curiosity to change or improve something in our lives. The feeling spurs us to make changes or go exploring. Rev. Edwene Gaines, the Unity teacher of prosperity, makes the statement that if all the money in the world were distributed evenly, each person on the planet would have a little more than $4.5 billion. Then she would pointedly ask her audience, “Where’s yours?”

Her point wasn’t that anyone was keeping our good from us, but that since there’s clearly more than enough abundance for all of us, if we aren’t experiencing a comfortable amount ourselves, it’s time to learn the spiritual laws that govern abundance and apply them consistently. Today we’ll look into Divine Discontent and abundance with curiosity to discover what blocks us from experiencing the good that’s available for us.
