Michael Gott wrote and performs a song about his own recovery and growth called Do You See? In it he acknowledges a friend who helped him by asking, “Do you see that you are more than you believe yourself to be? Do you know there’s a power in your hand?” He goes on to speak about how he passed this on to others struggling and thanked her. Freedom comes with first recognizing that each of us has a power in our hands: the power to choose what we believe and focus upon. Our consistent focus on the good we wish to experience can transform our experience from feeling stuck to claiming our freedom.
