Since the pandemic ended, and we began meeting in person again, GGCSL has been without a Music Director on staff. We are ready to change that.

The Music Director develops and leads the music ministry for Golden Gate Center for Spiritual
Living in consultation with the senior minister, and other music team members, in a manner that
is consistent with the values, mission, vision, and philosophy of the Golden Gate Center for

Spiritual Living community and the Science of Mind philosophy. This is a envisioned as a part-
time position that may develop into more.

Responsibilities:
• Select and plan music for Sunday Celebrations (and midweek services, if any)
• Participate in planning / development of Sunday & special services with Senior Minister
• Recruit, train, motivate, supervise and shepherd music team leaders and musicians
• Develop musical teams and ensembles for services
• Organize musical outreach events via performances at / with other organizations
• Maintain a strong prayer base for the music ministry
• Communicate faithfully with the Senior Minister and staff
• Participate in the life and ministry of the church
• Submit payment requests to Bookkeeper for scheduled guest musicians in a timely way
Qualifications:
1. Daily personal spiritual practice
2. Love and respect for people, with sense of humor and positive attitude
3. Attested musical skills and competence
4. Ability to organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and tech team members
5. Strong team player with the rest of the staff and congregation
6. Committed to GGCSL’s values, mission, vision, leadership and people
7. Dependable, responsible, self-motivated and creative
8. Bachelors Degree in Music or better, preferred
9. Minimum three years of experience in a New Thought–related setting
Musical Competencies:
• Ability in wide range of styles, but with a focus on contemporary music
• Ability to lead congregational singing and train others as individual / team music leaders
• Professional quality keyboard player
• Composing, arranging, writing and transposing music
• Producing and directing special events, musicals and programs
Compensation: Negotiable.
