Love the Body (10/09/22)

Rev. Mary Murray Shelton

Now that we know our bodies serve a purpose for the soul’s learning and growth, it’s time to turn our appreciation toward the body itself.

We spend lots of time and money to dress, decorate, groom and manage the body, not always lovingly. We cut on it to heal it, make it smaller or larger in places, alter the face, grow more hair, change it’s secretions and smells. We could do these things with love, but usually these and more are done to control the body’s appearance and behavior with some negative judgments and frustration. How might we treat the body with love and appreciation? What might be the result of doing this?
