This is a Sunday of convergences. Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and the first Sunday of Advent are all important aspects of this holiday weekend and we will honor them all this morning. What growth are you grateful for? What aspects of your life do you want to grow into more deeply in the coming year? Today we greet the darkness and honor the ways it reminds us of the preciousness of light in our lives as well. Both are essential to our well being and survival. So we’ll explore just how it is that crises and challenges offer us tremendous gifts of love, in addition to the obvious gifts that ease and joy bring to us.
