Mothers are often seen as the nurturing, encouraging parents, while Fathers are seen as the disciplinarians and examples to emulate. But these gender roles are too limiting for wise parents. As we look into “the heart of the Mother” we honor the Divine Feminine principle in all parents. The word “heart” contains the words “hear” “ear” and “art.” If we add an H at the end of the word, we also get “hearth” and “earth.” This group of words clues us in to important aspects of mothering regardless of the gender of a parent. We all need mothering and fathering, and we are all parents, even if we never had our own kids. Let’s see how earth, hearth, art, and heart rely on “hearing” for their power.
